Rongoā Māori Sessions

Te Whare Whakaora provides Rongoā Māori sessions using the traditional healing modalities of Mirimiri and Romiromi — body work that supports psychological, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing.

  • Sessions run approximately one hour, starting with whitiwhiti kōrero (consultation), and include karakia, takutaku, and waiata.
  • Physical effects: You may experience temporary pain and/or tenderness during and following your session.
  • Psychological, Emotional & Spiritual effects: As we work holistically, things may come up that feel triggering or unsettling and you may feel emotional, and/or energetic changes. We recommend having support in place (self-care, whānau, friends, professional support), and encourage you to tell us if you’re feeling unsettled at any point.
  • You may pause, stop, or ask for changes at any point, for any reason.
  • If you feel that your kairomi practitioner isn’t the right fit for any reason, contact us to let us know.
  • Read more about what to expect and how to prepare for your romiromi sessions here: www.tewharewhakaora.co.nz/kahukura-clinic.

Limitation of Liability

Te Whare Whakaora provides Rongoā Māori services with reasonable care and skill, in line with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. Rongoā Māori is a traditional healing practice, not a substitute for medical advice — please see a medical professional for any urgent or serious condition.

Evaluation of Service

After your session(s), you may be asked to complete an optional, anonymous survey. This helps us monitor service quality and, at times, supports funding reports.
